More than 7,000 quake victims yet to rebuild houses

More than 7,000 earthquake victims of Dolakha are yet to start reconstructing houses although they have received the first instalment of the government grant.

Altogether 7,215 quake victims, who received the first tranche of the grant have not started reconstructing their houses.

According to statistics of the National Reconstruction Authority Grant Management and Local Infrastructure Office, Dolakha, 60,648 families had received

the first instalment, while 53,433 victims have come for the second instalment.

Altogether 69,408 families were in the list of beneficiaries in the district. Of them, 61,206 have signed the grant agreement, while 8,202 victims have not signed it. There are 558 victims who signed the grant agreement but have yet to receive the first instalment amount.

Meanwhile, three quake victims of Dolakha have returned the first instalment amount till date.
