Most drugstores have not met the basic criteria in Jajarkot.

A monitoring team deployed from District Administration Office found that dispensaries in Khalanga Bazaar of Bheri Municipality, Kalimati Bazaar of Nalgard Municipality, Thalaha Bazaar of Chhedagard Municipality and Panchkatiya Bazaar of Kushe Rural Municipality had not obtained operating licence.

There are 10 drug stores and clinics in Jajarkot district headquarters. Of them, six drug stores met the set criteria. The monitoring team said 12 drug stores of Kalimati Bazaar, 15 of Thalaha Bazaar and eight of Panchkatiya were running illegally. It was also found that drugstores lacked skilled  manpower, necessary documentation and that their registration certificates had expired.

Mayor Chandra Prakash Gharti of Bheri Municipality said the authority had been ignorant for long.
