KANCHANPUR: A cyclist died after being hit by a motorcycle at Tirpura in Bhimduttanagar Municipality-5 of Kanchanpur district along the East-West Highway on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Lalu Pahari (38) of Sukasal of Bhimduttanagar Municipality- 10 in the district.

According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the bike (UA 03 3141) hit the cycle last night.

Critically injured in the incident, Pahari was rushed to the Mahakali Zonal Hospital where he breathed his last during the treatment, the DPO informed.

The motorcyclist has been identified as an Indian national named Bhagawan Das.

He also sustained injuries in the incident and is receiving treatment at the same Hospital, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Nainsingh Karki.
