RATNANAGAR: An 88-year-old person has died after getting knocked by a motorcycle in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

The deceased has been identified as Thakur Prasad Koirala of Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-9 in the district.

The motorcycle (Ga 9 Pa 5682) had rammed Koirala, injuring him at Aastha Chok in Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-12 yesterday, according to police.

Koirala was rushed to Chitwan Medical College where he breathed his last during the course of treatment at around 12:30 am, the District Police Office Chitwan said.

It has been learned that Koirala was walking towards Godrang area from a bus park on when the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, police have detained the motorcyclist for further investigation.
