LAHAN: A person died and another was critically injured in a motorcycle-pickup truck collision in Karjanha-8 along the East-West Highway in Siraha district, on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as the motorcyclist Shekhar Kumar Sharma (18) and the injured as pillion rider Mukesh Kumar Sharma (21). Both are residents of Kalyanpur, Kalabanjar-5 in Siraha district.

According to Area Police Office, Mirchaiya, the Hilux four-wheeler (Na 1 Ja 5010) collided head-on with motorcycle (Sa 7 Pa 5052) yesterday.

Critically injured Sharma was rushed to the Mangalam Hospital at Mirchaiya, said police.

Meanwhile, Sumita Kumari Das, a five-year-old daughter of Kumar Das drowned while swimming in a local pond in Krishnapur-3 in Siraha district on Tuesday evening.
