BANIYANI: A person was killed and two others were injured after the motorcycle they were riding fell on the road in Bhadrapur Municipality-4 along the Charali-Kechana road section in Jhapa, in the wee hours today.

District Police Office, Jhapa identified the deceased as motorcyclist Kishor Pradhan (20) and the injured as pillion riders Pratap Tamang (20) and Ashish Rai (26), all residents of Bhadrapur-8.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mahendra Kumar Shrestha was quoted in Rastriya Samachar Samiti as saying that the motorcycle (Me 4 Pa 7795) ran out of control and fell on the road near Jhilmiliya Bridge injuring the motorcycle riders critically this morning.

Later, motorcyclist Pradhan breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Bhadrapur-based Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital.

Meanwhile, the injured are being treated at the Birtamod-based Birta City Hospital.

It has been reported that police have undertaken investigation into the incident.
