Panchthar, June 13 Panchthar District Court has remanded into custody three persons charged with the murder of a teenage girl in Hilihang Rural Municipality in the district, about a month ago. A resident of Hilihang Rural Municipality-4 and a 10th grader at the local Siddha Secondary School, Sheetal Yonghang, 15, was found dead near her home with her throat slit on May 12. Following the murder, police had filed a chargesheet at the court, identifying Padam Tamang of Patlebhanjyang of Phalgunanda Rural Municipality, as the main accused and his two friends as accomplices in the crime. The chargesheet read Tamang, who was in love with Sheetal, had grown suspicious about his girlfriend and plotted to murder her with the help of his friends Bhagirath Bastola and Karna Tamang. While the charge sheet has sought life imprisonment and seizure of all property for the main accused, life imprisonment has been sought for his accomplices. Following the conclusion of a hearing starting Sunday, the court on Wednesday evening had ruled to keep those involved in the murder in custody, after which they were sent to Panchthar prison yesterday.
