Five more patients suffering from an unknown disease at Jijodamandu in Doti and Kailasmandu in Dadeldhura were admitted to the Seti Zonal Hospital last night. The number of such patients admitted to the hospital has reached 10.
Three children of Damaru Dev of Jijomandu — Tikeshwori, Chetraj and Meduli — and Suna Nepali and her son Suresh were admitted last night, a hospital source said. The patients have shown symptoms like dysentery, fever, lack of appetite and stiffening of the hands and legs.
Among six patients of Doti and Dadeldhura being taken to the hospital on Sunday, one woman died on the way to hospital.
There is no improvement in the health of the patients admitted to the hospital, the hospital source said.
The patients said the local health post at Jijodamandu is only providing the patients with cetamol.
Meanwhile, some 100 patients are suffering from the same disease at Kailashmandu VDC, and a team of health workers led by Bidhya Nidhi Poudel, a doctor at Seti Zonal Hospital, has been sent to the site.
