Rule of law sought
KATHMANDU: A group of human rights activists and civil society members on Tuesday called on Home Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal urging him to maintain the rule of law in the country. They urged the Home Minister to provide security to citizens in the Tarai region. They further urged to bring the culprits of bombing, looting and human rights violation to books and sought the action of the government to return the seized property of the citizens, to restore the morality of the security forces and ensure the right to life of the common people. The activists had handed over a six -point memorandum to the minister.
Judge Joshi no more
KATHMANDU: Patan Appellate Court Judge Rishi Raj Joshi, 62, passed away on Monday due to heart attack. The last rites of Joshi were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Tuesday. Law Minister Prem Bahadur Singh, Chief Justice Anup Raj Sharma, judges and lawyers paid him
the last respect at Aryaghat. Joshi, who served the judiciary for almost three decades was a senior judge
of the Appellate Court for the last
one year.
