5 held with weapons
MALANGWA: Police detained five persons with weapons from Harkathawa-1, Sarlahi on Friday. According to Yubanarayan Baidhya, DSP, District Police Office, Sarlahi, they were arrested with a pistol and five bullets. The arrested are Surendra Mahato of Manpur-3, Pankaj Kumar Das of Barhathawa-8, Surendra Yadav, Madhukanta Choudhari and Sunil Kumar Yadav of Shripur-1.
Tanzanian arrested
KATHMANDU: A special police squad from Narcotic Drugs Control Law Enforcement Unit on Thursday apprehended a Tanzanian, Rajabu Harry Kinago, 35, from Ason for possessing heroin. Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
One lakh robbed
KATHMANDU: An unidentified gang of three on Friday robbed Rs 1 lakh from Babulal Shah at the counter of Agriculture Development Bank in Saatdobato, Lalitpur. Shah, hailing from Godamchaur-3 in Lalitpur, had just withdrawn the cash when the miscreants robbed him. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the robbers.
Teacher looted
PARASI: A school teacher was looted from the premises of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Parasi branch on Friday afternoon. An unidentified gang looted him while he was counting his cash. The looters had drawn the attention of the teacher on a 100 rupee note on the floor. Police said that they had been searching for the looters.
