THT scribe honoured
CHITWAN: The Himalayan Times reporter Surya Prakash Kandel was honoured by Narayani Today, a monthly magazine published from Chitwan, on Saturday. During a programme organised on the occasion of the magazine’s ninth anniversary, Kandel and Basanta Parajuli, reporter with the Synergy FM Bharatpur, were honoured. Chief guest of the programme Himalaya Shumsher JBR, first NRB governor, felicitated the duo with letters of appreciation.
15 hurt in accident
DHADING: At least fifteen persons were injured when a bus heading towards Dhadingbesi from Kathmandu met with an accident at Chanptari of Dhading’s Muralibhanjyang VDC-2 along the Kalu Pande Highway on Saturday morning. Police said the bus had turned turtle before noon injuring the passengers. Three persons, who sustained critical injuries, have been identified as Shyam Bahadur Thakuri of Kalleri VDC-3, Madan Shrestha of Nilkantha VDC-5 and Lila Kumari Shrestha of Sangkosh VDC-1. They were referred to TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment.
Pokhara gets library
Pokhara: Popular litterateur Sarubhakta inaugurated Majheri Pustakalaya, a library, at Majheripatan in Pokhara Municipality Ward No 14 on Saturday. “Developing a study culture is a must for the formation of a good society. Guardians should invest in library to help young people to be the members of such a society,” he said during the inauguration. Local Rameshwori Secondary School provided a building for the library, which has a stock of some 3,000 books.
