SAPTARI: The Nepal Backward Group Federation declared an indefinite strike in Saptari from Thursday. As a result of the strike the East-West Highway has remained completely paralysed from Thursday morning.

At the same time Umdeswor Prasad Shah, central vice president of the association, along with other 12 members of the association were arrested by the police at Kathaula while they were trying to obstruct vehicular movement.
