RAJBIRAJ: Nepali Congress founder leader and veteran pro-democracy fighter Mahesh Chandra Mishra passed away at the age of 93 at his residence in Rajbiraj, Saptari, on Friday morning. Besides being the founder member of Nepali Congress, late Mishra was also a mahasamiti member and two-time district president. His final rites were performed as per the Hindu tradition at Tilathi in the district. Mishra is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter. Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Nepali Congress office secretary Basanta Gautam and former minister Ananda Shungana expressed condolences to the family of the deceased. His body was draped with the party’s flag as a tribute before his cremation.
