NC leader flays CA disruptions

Kathmandu, July 3:

Nepali Congress leader and former minister Marshal Julum Shakya today criticised the newly elected members of the CA for creating disturbances and making room for regressive forces.

“It is a shame that the 601 CA members have completely forgotten what they were elected for and are disrupting the historic assembly for their petty political interests,” he said, addressing an interaction programme today.

He warned that the newly-coined slogan of ‘One Madhesh One Pradesh’ was totally irrational, adding, it was going to take the country to a total devastation and was steered by some unseen factors.

“The demand of some pro-Madheshi parties will halt the democratic process and take the country to a state of civil war,” he said. He said that it took only six months to draft the 1990 constitution, but the CA seems unlikely even to form a committee in the period, at this rate.
