NC leader Paudel rules out change of guard

Jhapa, July 4

Senior Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel today ruled out the possibility of changing the KP Sharma Oli-led government for the moment.

Addressing party cadres in Birtamode, Jhapa, Paudel said, “There is no point in changing the government in the present political climate.” He argued that the manoeuvres of some forces inside the NC for change of the guard would prove fatal for the party. Commenting on the budget brought by the Oli-led government, Paudel held that the budget was mere lip service to the people as it would not do anything to ensure sustainable development of the country.

Paudel accused the incumbent government of failing to maintain law and order in the country. He added that his party would press the government to hold local polls at the earliest. NC central leader Minendra Rijal said that his party would not join the CPN-UML-led government.
