NC manifesto to be public tomorrow

Kathmandu, March 11:

Nepali Congress central leader Laxman Ghimire today said his party would unveil its election manifesto on Thursday.

The manifesto has already been sent to the press for printing and will be unveiled on March 13, Ghimire told this daily.

Earlier today, at a programme to introduce NC candidates in the Kathmandu Valley, NC vice-president Prakash Man Singh said his party would unveil the party’s manifesto in a day or two.

Singh, a candidate from Kathmandu constituency 1, said that the party Mahasamiti had endorsed the manifesto keeping in view the postponed November 22 constituent assembly polls.

Singh also urged his voters to be cautious while casting their vote through the electronic machines.

NC leader Narhari Acharya, who is contesting from Kathmandu constituency 5, said the April 10 election is an opportunity to utilise the NC’s 60-year-old agenda, from which the party had diverted. “The NC was the first party to raise the issue of the CA back then. The NC should bring certain changes in itself or it will be difficult to lead the party during and after the polls,” said Acharya.

“Previously a party used to field as many candidates as required to defeat the opponent but this time I am surprised that a party has contested 15 bogus candidates to elect its one candidate,” said Rajan KC, candidate of Nepali Congress from constituency no 10.
