‘NC needs dynamic leadership’

Dhangadi, December 23

Nepali Congress Vice-president Ramchandra Paudel today said that his party could not advance in a traditional manner.

Speaking at a cadres’ orientation and training session in Dhangadi, NC VP Poudel argued that the party was in need of new leadership to direct it. He said that the upcoming 13th general convention of the party would elect a dynamic leader.

He argued that the party leadership had failed to assess contribution made by members to the party. “Hence, electing a dynamic leadership will be a challenge for party cadres,” he claimed. He clarified that various accusations levelled by the ruling CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist were baseless.

Paudel also disclosed that though they were sure of losing the prime ministerial election, they had still gotten into the fray.

“Though we were defeated in the election of the prime minister, we had got involved in the overall politics,” he argued.

He claimed that they were trying all possible means to bring the agitating Madhesi front to consensus.
