KATHMANDU: The major opposition Nepali Congress has sent a letter of dissent to the Chairman of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee on Sunday citing that the recommendations of chiefs of constitutional commissions made by the Constitutional Council was not as per the laws.

NC lawmakers submitted the non-agreement letter to the committee Chairman Laxman Lal Karna at today's meeting of the committee in Singha Durbar.

In their statement, NC lawmakers argue that the chiefs of the constitutional commissions were recommended flouting the Article 284 (4) and Article 292 (1) of the constitution.

After receiving the letter, Chairman Karna, however, said that the committee does not have rights to revoke decisions made by Constitutional Council.
