NCP-led govt capable of fulfilling people’s dream, says prime minister

Siraha, February 2

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that the government was capable of fulfilling the people’s dream of a prosperous Nepal.

Addressing the 15th memorial meeting of martyr Hem Narayan Yadav in Siraha, the prime minister informed that the government was working concertedly to eliminate poverty and unemployment.

“As for employment, programmes such as Prime Minister Self-employment Programme and Youth Self-employment Programmes have been floated,” said the PM, adding, “We’ll also make sure that each youth is employed at least for 100 days a year and if failed to do so, we will provide unemployment allowance to him/her.”

On a different note, the PM informed that development had gained pace in Province-2 with a number of projects under way or on the cards.

“There are a number of projects proposed for this province, including Nijgadh International Airport, East-West Railway Project, Nijgadh-Kathmandu Fast Track, construction of a university, establishment of various industries and irrigation facilities. Work on some of these projects is under way,” he said. Further, the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chairperson clarified that his party was not anti-Madhes from any angle.

“It’s clear like the day that we aren’t against the Madhes, but there are some political parties that are constantly spreading this rumour against us,” he said. The PM also stressed  the need to abolish illiteracy.

He also met the children whom he got admitted to school under his guardianship last year.

Earlier today, the PM also laid the foundation stone of a boys hostel at Chandra Technical Secondary School.
