NC's Maya Rana elected chief of Myagde Rural Municipality in Tanahun

DAMAULI: Nepali Congress candidate Maya Rana has been elected as the chief of Myagde Rural Municipality in Tanahun district.

She collected 4,542 votes while her nearest competitor UML's Shree Prasad Shrestha only secured 3,461 votes.

Similarly, NC's Balkrishna Ghimire won the election as deputy chief of the rural municipality with 4,592 votes as against 3,154 votes received by his nearest competitor  Ratna Ghimire of CPN-UML.

According to an Election Officer Nawaraj Acharya, Nepali Congress panel had won the ward number 1, 3, 4 and 5 while CPN-UML panel was victorious in ward number 2, 6 and 7 in the rural municipality.The local level elections were held on May 14 to select a local representative in 281 local bodies in 34 districts in Province number 3, 4 and 6.
