‘Need to commercialise agriculture’

Rajbiraj, May 12

Former chairman of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chandiraj Dhakal today stressed the need to commercialise agriculture to make the country prosperous.

Inaugurating a regional-level training titled ‘Sustainable Development Planning for Forest Resources in Nepal’ in Rajbiraj, Saptari today, the former FNCCI chief dwelt on the huge prospects of the region and the country as a whole for development.

“As the country has enough arable land and a large area of forest land, we can make our country prosperous by utilising local resources and commercialising agriculture,” he argued.

Further,Dhakal also sought the attention of the state to make the country self-reliant in every field.

“The government should be serious about the flight of manpower to foreign countries to earn a livelihood for their families.

They could contribute immensely if the government came up with a plan to provide them opportunities here itself,” he said.
