Need for clear policy on informal sector stressed

Lalitpur, September 24:

Informal sector needs to be guided with clear policy and strategy to address the issues of women labourers, to regulate and monitor their activities, speakers at an interaction on Women Labourers in Informal Sector, Challenges and Policy, today said.

Speaking at the programme organised by Women’s Rehabilitation Centre, Ramesh Lekhak, minister for Labour and Transport Management said that the Labour Act is going to be amended and stakeholders should lobby to include new rules.

Sushil Ghimire, spoke-sperson at Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare said the ministry is a focal agency to address the issues of women.
