Nembang calls for unity for timely statute

POKHARA: The chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas Chandra Nembang has urged all the political parties to be united for drafting the new statute in the stipulated time frame.

Inaugurating a school building of Rameshwori Secondary School at Majheripatan in Pokhara, Nembang said, "No constitution can be written within the deadline without consensus and cooperation among the political parties"" adding,""There is no alternative to consensus for the timely promulgation of the statute and logical ending of the peace process."

Nembang also warned that the country will face serious catastrophe if the constitution was not promulgated by May 28. He requested the political parties to be seriously engaged in the task of drafting the constitution.

Stating that the political parties have contributed a lot to take the country to this point, he urged them to work for the country and people putting aside their partisan political and individual interest for the institutionalisation of achievements of the past.

Nembang, however, seemed optimistic of timely constitution as reports prepared by the various thematic committees of the CA have been submitted to the political parties and they have already commenced deliberations on the reports.

Meanwhile, Nembang felicitated those who had contributed for the construction of the school building.

Likewise, the CA chairman also inaugurated a Mahayagya at Tallo Gagan Gaunda in Lekhnath organised to collect fund for upgrading the standard of local Gogan Higher Secondary School.
