Nembang tells ministers to abide by statute

Biratnagar, January 21:

Speaker Subas Nembang today urged the ministers to take into account “their legal parameters” while delivering speeches.

Speaking to journalists here, he said: “While issuing statements against the values of the interim constitution, ministers should take into account their legal parameters.” Stating that the ministers taking oath as provisioned by the interim constitution should not speak against the constitution, he said: “It is necessary to arrive at a conclusion on the issue of speech (on monarchy) delivered by minister Sujata Koirala.”

“Sujata’s views came at a time when the state has been announced a republic. This is condemnable,” he said, adding that all controversial issues should be settled through adequate procedures. Claiming that democracy will be institutionalised after the CA polls, he said the CA polls should be held on schedule.

He also urged all agitating forces in the Tarai to come

for talks.
