Nepal Army Chief Chhetri calls on Bangladeshi President
KATHMANDU: Chief of the Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri paid a courtesy call on President of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid, in Dhaka, on Wednesday.
According to the Dhaka-based Nepali Embassy, Chhetri discussed bilateral ties, matters of mutual benefits and friendly relations between the armies of the two countries among other issues with the Bangladeshi President.
In the meeting, the visiting Army Chief expressed his gratitude on behalf of the government of Nepal for the support Bangladesh provided during the aftermath of last year's earthquake.
The Embassy further shared that the Bangladesh President had expressed concerns on the status of post-quake reconstruction projects in Nepal.
Also present on the occasion were the Charge de Affaires at the Nepali Embassy in Bangladesh, Dhan Bahadur Oli, and a military attaché among others.
Chhetri had left for Bangladesh on Tuesday upon the invitation of his Bangladeshi counterpart Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq.
Chhetri is scheduled to return home on November 20.
