NA clearing fire rubble in Bhojpur

Bhojpur, November 26

In the aftermath of the fire, which occurred a week ago in Bhotepasal of Bhojpur Municipality in Bhojpur, a team from Nepali Army today started removing the remains of the houses destroyed in the blaze.

A gas leakage had triggered the fire on November 20 in the municipality.

A meeting under the chairmanship of District Disaster Relief Committee’s Coordinator and Chief District Officer Arjun Kumar Sharma had decided to request the Ranabom Battalion of NA to remove the remains of the destroyed houses and help the fire victims resettle  in the same place.

Colonel Santosh Sharki at the battalion said the NA team had started removing the debris as per the decision made by the District Disaster Relief Committee’s meeting.

An estimated Rs 11 million worth property is said to have been destroyed in the blaze.

Police said the fire had spread from a house belonging to Thir Kumar Portel, a gold trader.

As many as eight houses were completely destroyed, while one was partially damaged in the blaze, said police.
