NA squad defuses bomb placed in NAC office, Pokhara

POKHARA: A squad of the Nepal Army (NA) has defused a bomb that was found on the premises of Nepal Airlines Corporation office at Mustang Chok in Pokhara today.

The staffers at the office informed police about the bomb when they came across it at 6:00 am this morning.

A technical team dispatched from NA’s Kalibhanjyang Battallion based in the Pokhara Airport defused the bomb, said police.

Meanwhile, police have detained six suspected activists of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party Nepal Maoist for questioning and proceeded with the investigation, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Kaski, Deputy Superintendent of Police Khadga Bahadur Khatri said.

The NAC office is in the north of the main entrance of the airport at the distance of 50 metres.

Just nine days ago, on September 11, a squad of the NA had defused a cylinder bomb placed on the premises of Pokhara Sasto Bazaar in Prithvi Chok. The land owned by Nepal Airlines Corporation has been leased to an entrepreneur.
