POKHARA: Nepal Army's Lance Corporal has been reportedly shot dead by his colleague in Baidam, Pokhara Lekhnath Municipality-6 of Kaski district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Bista of Baitadi district and the accused as Basanta Lohar of Darchula, both the Lance Corporal in Siddhibaks Battalion Phoolbari in Ratna Mandir.

Lohar, who had returned from duty, shot at Bista who was sleeping, at 4:26 am today, according to Inspector Basanta Sharma at the Baidam-based Ward Police Office. He said, Lohar had fired eight rounds of bullets from M16 pistol to kill Bista over a dispute.

Lohar is now in the custody of NA while the body of the deceased has been sent to the Western Regional Hospital Pokhara for the postmortem.

The NA has not unveiled the incident yet.

The Ratna Mandir Durbar owned by Nepal Trust after Nepal was declared Democratic Republic country, is under the protection of Siddhibaks Battalion Phoolbari.

POKHARA: Nepal Army's Lance Corporal (LC) has been reportedly shot dead by his colleague in Kaski district last night.

The deceased has been identified as LC Ganesh Bista and the accused as LC Basanta Lohar.

According to the Chief District Officer (CDO) Tara Nath Adhikari of Kaski, Bista was shot dead by his colleague Bista over a dispute on the premises of the Ratna Mandir based Siddhibaks Battalion camp at around 11:30 pm yesterday.

The investigation into the case is underway, the CDO Adhikari said.

Further details of the incident is yet to be reported, he said.
