RAUTAHAT: As many as 300 community schools in Rautahat district have been closed for four days after cold wave hit normal life hard.

The decision was taken after students started falling unconscious at schools due to cold, according to Mahadev Sah of Nepal Teachers Union.

Gaur-based Gauri Shankar Yadav Campus has also been closed after a bachelors student collapsed at the campus.

If the cold wave continued, private schools would also close from tomorrow, according to Gautam Shrestha, secretary of PABSON.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Office said firewood has been made available at different places in the district for public bonfire to keep the locals warm.
