Nepal emerging as a favourable investment destination: PM

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is on a four-day state visit to India, said that Nepal was lately emerging as a favourable investment destination.

During his interaction with the Indian business community here on Saturday morning, PM Dahal reaffirmed that the government of Nepal had adopted a clear policy to ensure political stability and security of foreign investment.

Dahal, who had arrived New Delhi on Thursday, urged the entrepreneurs to be confident of their investment in Nepal.

Underscoring the investment in agriculture sector in Nepal, PM Dahal pledged full support for the enterprises in this sector.

Stating that Nepal, which lies between the two big countries –India and China, could not always remain in poverty, Dahal affirmed that the country has already made headway for economic prosperity.

The entrepreneurs here confided to the PM that they had gauged the business climate of Nepal and urged the government of Nepal to ensure enabling business environment in the country to attract more and more foreign investment.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak, Charge d'affaires of Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, Krishna Prasad Dhakal, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae and officer bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) among others were present in the meeting.
