Nepal has entered the era of economic prosperity: VP Pun

RATNANAGAR: Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that the country has entered into a new era of economic prosperity.

Inaugurating the Ratnanagar Festival at the proposed regional stadium site at Ratnanagar on Thursday, Vice-President Pun said that the Country has moved beyond the transition phase and is into the era of economic prosperity.

However, Pun remarked that prosperity would not be possible without investment-friendly environment and political stability. The Vice-President expressed the belief that a stable government would be formed in the centre and the provinces as per the new mandate, and investment-friendly environment would be created along with political stability.

VP Pun urged the government, private and cooperative sectors to increase investment in major sectors for country's prosperity as well as appealed to private sector to play the role of a catalyst in attracting foreign investment.

He also expressed commitment to draw the government's attention to conduct feasibility study and make Chitwan a Special Economic Zone.

The Ratnanagar Festival will run till January 21.
