Nepal envoy discusses trade facilities with Indian minister

KATHMANDU: Nepali Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay called on Indian Minister for Textiles Smriti Zubin Irani in New Delhi on Wednesday.

According to the New Delhi-based Nepali mission, Ambassador Upadhyay raised the issues of imposing Anti-Dumping (AD) and Countervailing Duties (CVD) on Nepali products in India.

He also requested the Indian Minister to waiver the duties and facilitate smooth export of the jute products from Nepal.

In response, the Minister assured to consider the proposal and work in favour of Nepal, the Embassy statement added.

Upadhyay was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy, Krishna Prasad Dhakal.
