Nepal-Korea literary, cultural conference in the offing
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Writers Association and the South Korean Eurasian Culture Forum on Saturday reached an agreement on literary and cultural exchanges.
Association Chairman Shrawan Mukarung and the Forum General Secretary signed the agreement paper.
As per the agreement, the two organisations would jointly hold an extensive bilateral literary and cultural conference in Kathmandu in about five months.
The three-day conference would see the participation of around 200 representatives from South Korea including lawmakers, scholars, poets, authors, artists, cultural experts and businesspersons.
A total of 10 working papers on literature, culture, philosophy, history, art and tourism of the two countries would be presented while poets selected by the two countries would recite their poems.
Association Chairman Mukarung said arts of 100 artists from the two countries would be exhibited during the conference. Rendition of 120 poems of 60 poets, seven stories and five novels from each of the nations would be published on the occasion.
The second edition of the conference would take place next year in South Korea.
