KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 17
Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 783,075 on Friday with 1,086 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 746,566 with 1,351 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,012 with 10 more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 12,385 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 8,665 were PCR tests while 3,720 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,077,256 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 472 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,558.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 95.3 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 25,497.
Currently, there are 236 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 274 cases in the country. Kaski is second in line with 119 cases while Morang has 104 cases today.
So far, a total of 11,590,504 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 6,083,124 have received the first dose while only 5,507,380 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Globally, over 227 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.6 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 204 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
