KATHMANDU, AUGUST 08
The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal has reached to 5,686 on Monday as 498 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.
The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 990,625 while the death toll remains at 11,972 as one fatality was recorded today.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 972,967 with 498 discharges logged today.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 5,351 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 2,862 were PCR tests while 2,489 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,838,493 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests confirmed 436 positive cases in the past 24 hours.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.2%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.
Currently, there are no individuals in any quarantine facilities across Nepal.
