Nepal slams parties spreading rumours

RAUTAHAT: Senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal on Wednesdsay accused opposition leaders of running a propaganda mill about the draft of constitution.

“I’ve heard a lot of nonsense about the draft statute, which is unfortunate. So, I urge the leaders to properly study the draft before passing any comment on it,” argued the UML leader while speaking to journalists in Ganga Pipara of Rautahat today.

He was here to lay the foundation stone of a community school building to be built with the assistant of Japanese government in Ganga Pipara.

“The Madhesi leaders just want to spread false rumours. Otherwise how can they describe the draft as being against Madhes without even reading it?” asked Nepal, adding that the constitution had provisions to enshrine the concerns and interests of every backward and marginalised and ethnic community. Expressing confidence that the country will take strides in development once the nation gets the constitution, Nepal lashed out at Madhesi leaders for prioritising personal aggrandisement over the broader agendas of Madhes and its people.

He also defended the draft constitution with the provision to name and demarcate the states later in future.
