Nepal urges govt to hold talks with JTMM

Janakpur, May 23:

General secretary of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal today urged the government to immediately hold talks with both the Jaykrishna Goit and Jwala Singh factions of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha. The two groups have been waging an armed struggle in the Tarai region. Addressing a press conference here, Nepal said he didn’t have any information on the serial bomb blasts that rocked Janakpur last night. He said all sectors should take initiatives to solve the protracted crisis in the region.

Stating that the Muslim community in the region has also been seeking their own identity, Nepal urged the government to address the problems of the community separately.

Saying that the UML has no links with the Chure Bhawar Ekta Samaj (CBES), he said the government is holding talks with the CBES.

Nepal further said that unity of the eight political parties should not break at any cost. Saying that the Nepali people are not being able to feel the presence of a government in the country because of recent incidents, Nepal said: “The person who failed as Home Minister before should not have been given the same portfolio again.”
