Paudel slams government’s performance

Pokhara, September 10

Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Paudel has blamed the government for the ‘poor’ performance of constitutional bodies.

Inaugurating the second phase of National Awareness Campaign organised by the Nepali Congress Kaski, Constituency-2 (B) here today, the NC leader accused the government of keeping even the court and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority under its thumb.

“If it was not for the fear of the government, why would the court and the CIAA do nothing when the government is up to its eyeballs in corruption?” asked the Congress leader.

“The government that claims to be the messiah of the poor and the proletariat is wallowing in corruption. So, the onus is on our party to deliver the people from the frustration they feel towards the government,” he said.

Paudel further went on to declare that his party would win the upcoming by-election in Kaski Constituency 2.

“As Nepali Congress is the only hope for the people now, we can easily win election if we reach out to the people’s households and make them understand our agenda and ideology,” he reasoned.

Paudel, who arrived here for the campaign, also visited the party district president Krishna KC, who is undergoing treatment at the Western Regional Hospital.
