BIRATNAGAR: Nepali Congress candidate Shankar Rai has won the mayoral race of Letang-Bhogateni Municipality in Morang district.

Rai, who secured 6,656 votes, defeated CPN-UML candidate Bhupendra Lawoti, who garnered 6,351 votes.

Likewise, Krishna Kumari Niraula of UML has been elected the deputy mayor of the municipality.

Similarly, NC's Rabin Rai and UML's Dayamanta Chudal have been elected the mayor and deputy mayor in Ratuwamai Municipality of the district respectively.
