JAPAN: The body of a Nepali migrant worker – who arrived in Japan seven years ago, holding a working visa – was found inside the Nagareya jungle of Chiwa, around 30 km away the capital, Tokyo.

The Chiwa police on Sunday confirmed that the body was of Buddhi Bahadur Gurung (37) of Dhikur Pokhari–6 of Kaski district after a long investigation based on the deceased's appearance and relationship certificates.

The police discovered Gurung's decomposed body on Thursday. He was missing since three weeks ago.

The body had a deep scar on neck.

The DNA test and autopsy indicated that Gurung had committed suicide.

His body was subsequently handed over to his family members, police said.

The reason behind the apparent suicide still remains a mystery.

Gurung, who has a son, a daughter and a wife, had been living with his wife in Ibaraki Prefecture. His wife had arrived in Japan recently.

His children are living in Nepal.

Gurung's body will be cremated on May 22 at a local crematorium in Japan, it is learnt.
