Nepalis among illegal workers arrested in Malaysia

KATHMANDU: Nepali nationals are among 971 illegal migrant workers who were nabbed by the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) in an overnight crackdown nationwide, according Malaysian news agency Bernama.

According to the report, the offences they committed included not having identification documents, overstaying and holding unrecognised cards of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

The report said, 161 Nepalis were arrested from Melaka.
