Nepalis given the heave-ho in Malaysia

Laxmi Prasad Dhamala from Jhapa who is working at Kaulin Enterprises in Malaka told this daily over telephone today that he along with another Nepali Sal Bahadur Bhandari have been asked by their Malaysian employers to return to Nepal.
Dhamala said that they are being sent back for talking to journalists and providing material for newspapers. He informed that the company has not even given them their three months’ salary. Among the group, which is forced to work below the agreed salary, only two Nepalis will return. Dhamala said that the company has provided them the air ticket. The company has asked them to fly back to Nepal on April 4 without any compensation, he said.
Sal Bahadur Bhandari said that the company authorities have warned them against talking about their salary and compensation.
