Nepalis’ bodies lying in S Arabia

Damak, February 25:

The bodies of at least 12 Nepalis who were killed in different accidents are lying unclaimed in Saudi Arabia for the past four months. They were in Saudi Arabia for employment.

Coordinator of the Nepal Dead Bodies Management Committee Chandra Chamling said that the bodies of over 12 Nepalis, including Rajkumar Rai of Jhapa, Ram Bahadur Rai and Gom Bahadur Magar of Morang, Ram Pariya of Kaski, Hem Pun Magar of Myagdi, Suresh Gurung of Bhairahawa and other unidentified, are lying unclaimed at Al Iman Riyadh Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Of them Rajkumar, Hem, Ram Bahadur and Gom Bahadur had died in road mishap on October 25, 2006, it is reported. Others died in different factories and companies while discharging duties in October and November last year, Chamling said. He said that a letter was sent to the Home Ministry sometime ago but the government replied that it was not able to support the victims due to lack of funds.
