New constitution hailed
Damauli, December 25
Dalit leaders of Tanahun have hailed the new constitution, saying it has addressed the concerns of the marginalised and oppressed communities.
Speaking at a public awareness programme organised by Janauthhan Pratisthan Kathmandu with support from UNDP in the district headquarters Damauli, the dalit leaders termed the new constitution as a progressive one.
“As the constitution has addressed the concerns of the Dalit community, there is hope that the implementation of the new charter would bring an end to discrimination against the oppressed lot,” the various Dalait leaders argued.
