'New statute addresses concerns of all'

Chitwan, April 30

Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar today claimed that the recent constitution drafted and promulgated by the people’s representatives was one of the best documents in the world.

Speaking at the Nepal Magar Association’s 11th national general convention in Bharatpur of Chitwan today, the speaker dismissed rumours about the statute.

“Although everyone is not satisfied, the statute ratified by a majority of lawmakers in the Constituent Assembly has addressed the concerns of all groups and communities.”

“The charter has addressed the fundamental concerns of all ethnic, religious and indigenous communities. Some disputed issues would be addressed over time,” she argued, urging all political parties and the people to help the government implement the charter.

“Agitation and shutdowns are not a solution to the problem. All disputes and grievances can be addressed through talks,” she added. She also urged the agitating Madhes-based parties to come forward for talks to end the current deadlock.
