New statute should be seen in a positive way: DPM Mainali

BHIMDUTTANAGAR: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Chandra Prakash Mainali, today said that solution should be explored by holding intellectual discussion regarding the disgruntled issues of the new constitution.

Addressing the 'People's Constitution among the People' campaign at Bhimduttanagar in Kanchanpur on Sunday, DPM Mainali urged the leaders of the agitating Madhesi parties to go through the progressive issues incorporated in the new constitution noting the new constitution should be seen in a positive way.

"Expressing dissatisfaction makes sense but tearing and burning the new constitution for mere hollow dissatisfaction is mysterious," said Mainali.

He also urged the agitating parties to take initiatives to incorporate the to-be-addressed issues through a democratic process.

Claiming that the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)  has been launching agitation in Tarai putting illogical demands on the new constitution, he said," Ethnic-based province was impossible."

DPM Mainali also stressed on the implementation of the new constitution.
