Kathmandu, March 20:

No virus of bird flu has been found in the birds that died in Rangeli village development committee of Morang district a few days ago, it was informed by the Central Veterinary Research Lab after conducting tests on the dead birds.

Dead crows and mainas were brought here yesterday to confirm the cause of death after different types of birds started to die in the VDC.

According to the information given by former Chief of the Laboratory Dr Rewatiman Shrestha, those birds did not die of bird flu but were suffering from various germs and worms.

The tests are on to identify the bacteria causing the death and a final report is yet to come, Chief of the Microbiology Unit of the Laboratory Dr Purnima Manandhar said.
