Kavre, April 9:
Information and Communication Minister Tanka Dhakal ruled out the possibility of holding talks with the Maoists during an interaction programme on ‘The duty of youths regarding royal proclamation’ held at the district headquarters Banepa today.
Though restoration of peace is one of the main agendas of the present government, Dhakal said it does not necessarily mean the government will hold talks with the Maoists, kneeling before them. He said spreading havoc in the name of democracy is a matter of concern and the government would never encourage the spread of terror. According to him, post 1990, it was the political leaders who misused the physical and administrative mechanism of the government for their own interests. The minister also accused the parties of spreading corruption while in power. Taking into account the worsening situation of the country, he said the King was compelled to take over.
