NSU padlocks Science Campus demanding reforms

KANCHANPUR: The members of Nepal Students' Union (NSU), the student wing of Nepali Congress, on Wednesday padlocked the Siddhanath Science Campus in Bhimdutta Municipality-18 of Kanchanpur district demanding various reforms.

The NSU has put forth the demand of appointment of campus chief, reduction of tuition fee, arrangement of laboratory, library and sports materials and wall construction.

NSU general convention member Gorakh Bahadur Raule said they resorted to padlock the campus administration office against the unilateral move of increasing college fee.

"NSU had submitted charter of demands for the reforms of the campus several times in the past. We are compelled to come up with stringent move for ignoring our demands,” clarified Raule.

The protest was launched to pile pressure on the campus administration, he shared, adding that they would be compelled to bring further strong protest programme if their demands were not heeded.
