NSU protests announced
Kathmandu, January 21:
The Nepali Congress-affiliated Nepal Students Union (NSU) today announced further protest programmes against the government’s decision to impose day-long curfew on January 20 and the house arrest of the political party leaders.
NSU will organise a torch rally throughout the country on January 22, an NSU press release said. Other protest programmes include burning of the effigies of autocracy on January 23, a half-an-hour chakkajam in front of campuses throughout the country on January 24 and holding joint mass meets aimed at boycotting municipal elections in all municipalities. Separately, the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) today organised a protest programme at New Baneshwor in the evening against the imposition of curfew and the ban on protest programmes and political gatherings.
